Austin Healey 3000 MkI Two-Seater

DETAILS

Finished in stunning 1950s Aston Martin Racing Green, this 1959 Austin Healey 3000 MkI is a rare two-seater (BN7) model fresh from professional restoration with the direction of an enthusiastic Austin Healey collector owner. As such the car features items cherry picked from all the generations of Healey 3000 to make the ideal usable Healey.

Aesthetically the car has a sporting 50s road-racer vibe, de-bumpered with twin Luas spotlamps, colour coded Green wire wheels shod in Michelin XAS tyres, side exit exhaust, race type stick on numberplates and most uniquely the car is fitted with the early Austin Healey 100/4 fold down windscreen – show in the pictures in race position folded down but which can be raised to touring height.

Mechanically the engine has been upgrade to MkIII fast road specification, with a high lift camshaft and twin 2” MkIII carburettors and inlet manifold. Performance is greatly increased typically by 50BHP with this specification. Power is transmitted to the wheels again by a later 3000 MkIII centre change gearbox instead of the earlier side change typically fitted. The car will receive a full Rawles Motorsport engine tune before sale.

Inside trim is custom Green leather with Green carpet set and Green hydura.

This is a new restoration completed over a few years with the bodywork done professionally and the interior trim undertaken by the owner.

Sold with new MOT, history file, British Motor Heritage certificate and more.
