This 1964 Austin Healey 3000 is a very rare, early MkIII Phase II model. The early Phase II cars are notable for featuring the same 150BHP motor, revised chassis and De-Luxe interior as the later Phase II cars but with the slimmer bodywork of the earlier Phase I cars. This model is a 6-month sweet spot, especially rare to see on an original RHD Healey such as this with somewhere less than 100 examples made as such.
This Healey has been in single ownership for the last 45 years and was restored 10 years ago by a German Healey specialist. Restoration included taking the car back to bare metal with only minor need for panel work improvements on what was already a cherished car. The engine and gearbox have been rebuilt a few times in this 45 year period and today remain incredibly strong, the gears lapping exceptionally nicely together and the overdrive engagement smoothly deploying a healthy dose of Austin power.
On the outside this MkIII is finished in Black with Spruce Green Duotone and wears a set of wonderfully dished chrome 72 spoke wire wheels shod in a set of equally meaty modern radial tyres.
On the inside the car features a handsome Dark Green leather interior with Black piping and Black carpet set, the typical BJ8 De-Luxe Walnut dash and a period radio nestled in the dash with all the original gauges present and correct. A Black mohair roof complements the stunning exterior.
This Healey has been upgraded with the extremely desirable and period Koni telescopic shock absorber kit, a large core radiator, unleaded conversion, aluminium backplate and more.
Supplied serviced with MOT, British Motor Heritage Certificate of Authenticity, paperwork history file and restoration documentation.
