Here we have for sale an incredible Austin Healey find. A rare, original right-hand drive 3000 MkI Two-Seater (one of just 58) with just 34,000 original miles proven through MOT history and original service records dating back to new. Now fully restored with just 1,200 miles since and complemented by some of the very best upgrades and features you can find for a Healey including but not limited to: full aluminium body with the car weighing in just below 1,000KG, ultimate road engine, 4-piston front brakes, 2-piston rear disc upgrades, 100S bucket seats, limited slip differential, upgraded suspension and tyres all wrapped up in a car with styling features identical to the Pat Moss works race car that dominated in the very same Colorado Red colour.

Fully restored in 2020 with a full rotisserie repaint of the chassis, new aluminium wings and doors making this a full aluminium body car (the original front and rear shrouds were restored) with works rally wing vents, works rally louvred bonnet, works rally cockpit vent, de-bumpered per works cars, works rally grille, works oil cooler vent, works bonnet straps, all painted perfectly in the cars original Colorado Red (the original works colour). As such the car bears a very strong recommendation to the most successful rally Healey of all time, Pat Moss’ URX 727 which won Liège–Rome–Liège, as illustrated by the front shroud decal. Should they not be to your taste the BMC/ works stickers can be removed.

During restoration the mechanicals were upgraded with some of the very best parts for Healeys. The original engine was rebuilt by another Austin Healey specialist to fast road specification with:

Wheels restored by tudor wire wheels
Michelin XAS tyres
Steering box rebuilt with collapsable FIA Appendix K level safety column
New front and rear springs

Inside the same level of love and attention to detail has been given to the trim which has all been refurbished including fitment of a set of fantastic looking 100S bucket seats trimmed in Gaurds Red leather with Black piping, Gaurds red trim panels, Dark Red carpet including carpeted rear deck trim and spare wheel cover and finally a 100S steering wheel. The only item untouched is the dashboard which was preserved for originality purposes as it still proudly displays the original supplying dealer tag plus period timing instruments.

The history file (or crate!) created by the last owner of 18 years stretches back to new with the original warranty card supplied filled in, invoices from Austin and British Leyland dealers for servicing in the 1960s & ‘70s, then Healey specialists in the 1980s and onwards. MOT history is filled in from the 1970s and service history from new support original mileage of 34,000 as shown today. Accompanying what must be the largest history file we have ever had is the original service book with some further servicing information scribbled in the inside cover, a BMC parts book all plus the very recent restoration photos and invoices.

Sold with fully history box, British Motor Heritage Certificate of Authenticity, original log book, period servicing and current service history, owners manuals, full wet weather gear and more.
