This car was tested by Classic and Sportscar and Jaguar World receiving rave reviews for the cars performance, comfort and flexibility with journalists citing that the car would beat super and sportscars some 30/40 years newer whilst being totally liveable as a road car.
YLU 470H has had a remarkable history of excellent fortune and specialist attention with development first starting with fettling from a well known E-type racer and former jaguar engine man, later being further developed by an engineer of Vicarage Engineering then the well known Classic Motor Cars Jaguar specialists who took the car on as a special test bed. The car was used to develop special camshafts which fitted inside its fully race built engine enabled it to produce 306bhp and 318 ft-lbs of torque with 260lbft of torque on tap from 2,800 rpm.
Since the 2012 the engine and transmission have been removed, stripped and rebuilt by XK specialists K&N cars who used Sigma Engineering to carry out the engine rebuild. The car has not been raced since and has been kept in private collections for road use.
Whilst undergoing bodywork restoration by Classic Motor Cars the car was fitted with specially strengthened sills and boot floor, a fully revised adjustable bespoke multi-link suspension setup including stronger uprights, a performance ventilated disc braking setup, sports exhaust system, sports clutch, upgraded gearbox, five spoke centre lock revolution wheels, fireproof fuel tank and internal roll cage.
In additional to all this special history and expensive modification YLU is a very special original right hand drive, original light blue with dark blue interior example bought new by AW Lewis from Henlys Ltd of London.
