DETAILS
CBW 100B is a very early build, June 1964 Austin Healey 3000 MkIII. These early cars, known as Phase I’s cars featured slimmer bodywork with smaller, single glass front sidelights, smaller glass rear lights versus the larger plastic items on Phase II cars, pioneering the same 150BHP engine, wind-up windows, easy-up ‘pram style hood’ and walnut dash, plus the superior refinement that is known and attributed to Phase II cars. The Phase I cars also have a unique centre console with padded armrest storage – a nice feature sadly not continued for cost reasons on Phase II. Notably, out of a total 17,712 MkIIIs (Phase II and I), just 1302 Phase one models were made, and only 108 of those were original right hand drive; making this a very rare Healey.
Finished in Tartan Red, a little darker and deeper than the typical Colorado Red this is a very attractive Healey with complementing Deep red interior with Claret Red carpet set. Up front twin Lucas period spot lamps are fitted and aluminium Silver wire wheels are wrapped in Pirelli tyres.
CBW 100B was in the same ownership from 1977 – 2018 when the vendor purchased it at just 24 years old. He carried out a full, very high-quality chassis-up restoration by marque specialist in 2002. The car has been extremely well cared for since then, regularly serviced and looked after. The current vendor purchased the car from Rawles Motorsport in 2018 and made a series of improvements to the cosmetic condition (chroming items, machine polishing, touching in stone chips) as well as fitting reliability, performance and handling upgrades including Rawles Motorsport Bilstein telescopic suspension upgrade, Rawles Motorsport 4-Piston front brakes and an additional electric cooling fan. This is a superb driving Healey with ample power, great ride and handling composure.
The paperwork history file extends all the way through the previous two ownerships with MOTs back to 1977 and an original ‘60s log book as well.
Supplied serviced, with MOT, photographic and paper documentation of restoration, large paperwork file on parts and servicing, original log book, original dealer plaque, service manual and glove-box service book.
