BYC 839B is a fantastic and unique example of the Austin Healey 3000 MkIII sporting a distinctive works style louvred bonnet, an upgraded fast road engine, telescopic rear shocks, 4-piston front brakes, 2-piston rear disc brake conversion (in place of the factory drums) and is impressively fitted with rack and pinion steering.

Restored first in 1989 but with a more recent paint refresh in 2022, BYC externally presents very nicely. Panel fitment is good and the Healey Blue and Ivory paint has good lustre. Chrome 60 spoke wire wheels were newly fitted in 2020 and fitted with Dinax Classic 185 tyres. In 2023 the bumpers were replaced as was the grille surround.

Mechanically this Healey has a stellar specification with modernised brakes, upgraded suspension and steering. The engine was stripped, machined and rebuilt in 2008 including fitment of a Denis Welch DWR1 camshaft to bring performance up to fast road specification. At the same time the engine was unleaded converted and a rear main oil seal conversion was fitted. More recently our Rawles Motorsport Fast Flow inlet manifold and a stainless sports exhaust has been fitted along with 123 mappable electronic ignition.

Inside the interior wears well since restoration with the carpet more recently replaced. Seating is Navy leather with Light Blue piping to match the Healey Blue paint nicely. A Moto-Lita Mark III wooden steering wheel is fitted.
