DETAILS

Built on 17th December 1964 for delivery to the Carlaw Cars Limited showrooms of Glasgow, this Austin Healey 3000 MkIII is a BJ8 Phase II model in its original right hand drive configuration. Well specified from new with wire wheels, overdrive, a heater, adjustable steering column, hide upholstery, laminated windscreen and road speed tyres.

This Healey HKH 60C is externally presented in very nice condition throughout, having been fully repainted in Healey Reno Red (much deeper than the usual Colorado seen on most MkIIIs) with Ivory Duotone around 2011 with just 1,000 miles covered since. Prior to this the car was restored in 1988 by a Healey specialist so has clearly never been allowed to fall into a great state of disrepair. A works style mesh grille is fitted to the front for a more sporting aesthetic and Aluminium Silver wire wheels wrapped in sticky Avon tyres back this up.

On the inside HKH is very smart with the unmarked seats having been fully retrimmed in Black perforated leather with Black piping in the correct BJ8 fluted seat patterns. The seats are bespoke and of a far superior quality to the aftermarket seat covers available. The Black carpet appears to have been done around the same time and presents nicely. Additionally, HKH has been fitted out with full mohair wet weather gear (hood and tonneau) made from scratch and hand fitted to the car.

Mechanically this Healey is in good all-round condition having just had an overhaul to the brakes, hydraulics and a few areas of the electrics and suspension by us. We have known the car since around the year 2000 and seen it quite frequently for servicing. The car has a good history file dating back into the late 80s as well as a heritage certificate.

Sold serviced with MOT, British Motor Heritage Certificate of Authenticity, mohair hood bag, jack, hammer, paperwork history file.
