A rare opportunity to purchase an incredible quality, newly restored example of the first and purest form of Austin Healey – the 100 BN1. This example WCV 243 is an original right-hand drive UK car, built 24^th January 1955, despatched to HTP Motors Truro and first registered as WCV 243 which is retained today. Having been fully restored between 2019 and late 2024 WCV 243 is of extremely high specification featuring a new chassis, an engine far in excess of 100M specification, an aluminium body, a full leather interior, later 4-speed overdrive gearbox and much more. Restoration was carried out by marque specialists at a cost of £170,000 with just 2,200 miles since. The engine and chassis numbers are matching originals.

Finished in it’s original colours of Spruce Green paint with Dark Green interior trim and Dark Green wet weather gear, restoration has been carried out to a very high level and includes numerous upgrades both to elevate the quality of this car and the driving experience to something very special.

Body & Chassis

New chassis. Full bare metal restoration, new aluminium wings, aluminium louvred 100M bonnet, aluminium boot. De-bumpered body. Stone chip protective covering to wheel arches, rotisserie repaint. All chrome refinished or replaced as necessary, cockpit polished finish.

Brakes, Steering and Suspension

All new brake linings, new brake lines, refurbished shock absorbers, adjustable front camber, original rare flat top RHD steering box refurbished, new wheels painted in Spruce Green, new Blockley tyres.

Engine, Gearbox, Rear Axle

Original engine fully refurbished including 89mm pistons, aluminium cylinder head, DWR4 100S camshaft, vernier cam sprocket, fully balanced, upgraded clutch,100M exhaust, 100M inlet manifold, 100M carburettors, upgraded distributor, aluminium sump, high torque starter, aluminium fuel tank.

Later 4-speed overdrive gearbox. Fully refurbished including overdrive. High ratio rear axle refurbished and fitted for improved cruising.

Interior and Wet Weather Gear

Full leather interior including leather seats in Dark Green with Dark Green piping, Dark Green wool carpet set, colour coded Spruce Green dashboard with Silver instrument binnacle, all original gauges refurbished, all new switchgear. Black seatbelts.

New mohair hood in Dark Green, re-trimmed side-screens.

Sold with British Motor Heritage Certificate of Authenticity, paperwork back to 1974 plus 1960s green log book, photographic documentation of restoration, paperwork documentation of restoration.
