This 1955 Austin Healey 100, URK 397 is a very beautiful and very unique example of the early model roadster Healey with original numbers and fully modified to Le Mans specification with P280 kit components plus a later 4-speed overdrive gearbox. Restored and with specialist maintenance work, this is an up-together, usable Healey, previously having been extensively prepared for the Mille Miglia but not entering.

URK 397 was built on 8^th February 1955 and finished in Healey Blue metallic with Navy interior as an original right hand drive export car, originally for export to Australia. Although there is not clear evidence to prove it, there are speculative letters from previous owners to magazines and club members which suggest the car was modified new to Le Mans specification and shipped to the Bahamas for racing, with photos in the history file showing the car in a unique racing livery of Brooklands Green with Yellow duotone. At present day, the car is fitted with a full Le Mans kit but the bonnet and other items are reproductions.

URK is a well presented and up together example having been fully repainted 8 years ago with approximately 10,000 miles since, the seats also having been recovered at around the same time. The engine was rebuilt in 2010 and again has covered approximately 10,000 miles as well and has now been fitted with a upgraded aluminium head, both further increasing performance above M specification whilst saving weight over the front axle of the car.

Supplied with British Motor Heritage Certificate of Authenticity, large history file including provenance letters and previous ownership history, original keys, restoration photos and invoices.
