DETAILS
PWT 160C is a superb opportunity to purchase the perfect Austin Healey 3000 MkIII to tour long distances in or simply use and enjoy easily anytime thanks to a host of refinements and modernisations. Highlights of this Healey include air conditioning, 5-speed gearbox and our exceptional stage II sound and thermal insulation all fitted here at Rawles Motorsport. We have maintained the car to the highest standards since 2018.
A dry climate car most of its life (having been imported here from Australia) PWT was purchased from the Healey Factory of Melbourne as a very solid restoration project and later restored by Warwicks Autobahn in around 2000. The car was exceptionally rust free at the time and restoration was comprehensive with the car shot blasted back to bare metal and painted in stages. The engine was fully rebuilt to original specification. All body panels on the car remain originals and as such body fit is excellent. Since restoration the car has covered less than 7,000 miles and looks like it could have been done just a few years ago.
Significant expenditure and upgrades to the car include:
- 2021 New Rawles Motorsport bespoke mohair tonneau
- 2021 New Twin Lucas Spotlamps
- 2021 USB power points
- 2021 Rawles Motorsport 4 Piston Brake Upgrade (Front)
- 2022 Stage II thermal and heat insulation, this makes this one of the quietest Healeys you will drive
- 2022 New leather bound carpet set, bespoke Rawles Motorsport
- 2022 New Rawles Motorsport Bespoke Mohair Hood, black with new woods
- 2023 Rawles Motorsport 5 Speed conversion
- 2023 Air conditioning fitted by Rawles Motorsport which is extremely effective
- 2024 Refurbishment and upgrades to the cylinder head
Further upgrades also fitted include a large core aluminium radiator and oil cooler suitable, increased front camber, power points, new tyres in 2018 and regular servicing by ourselves from 2018 – 2024.
In summary this is an exceptionally well sorted MkIII in excellent cosmetic and structural condition, superbly clean underneath and on top with a very smooth, comfortable and refined drive thanks to spot on mechanicals.
Sold serviced and with MOT, British Motor Heritage Certificate of Authenticity, tonneau, photographic documentation of restoration plus Rawles Motorsport hood and carpet build, and service history.
