DETAILS
Built 18th March 1955 this late BN1 Austin Healey 100 is and original right hand drive example built at first for export to Australia but at the very last minute was realocated to stay home in the UK. NFS 308 was first registered as in late June/ early July of that year of ‘55. The car today remains in its original exterior colour of Ivory white now with complimenting Navy Blue interior featuring White piping, sitting on centre lock Silver wire wheels. Total mileage shows 75,000 on the gauge which may be original with MOTs back to 1990 supporting this. The car had one owner from 1959-1990.
Repainted and refitted in 2012 this Healey presents extremely well with only 12,000 miles since. The chrome brightwork similarly in excellent all-around condition. Wheels are unmarked and of the correct original Aluminium Silver hue. Prior to the 2012 restoration the car had previously been restored meaning the car has been kept up together over time. In 2018 we fitted the current Everflex hood.
Mechanically NFS is up together with the engine rebuilt in 2012 by Peter Farmer and later rolling road tuned by us. We compression checked the engine in 2018 with results of 175psi (cyl. 1), 175 (cyl. 2), 180 (cyl. 3), 177 (cyl. 4). Shock absorbers were replaced in 2021, the gearbox was last rebuilt in 2013. The engine is of 100M specification, unleaded converted and with the excellent Welch aluminium head which greatly increases performance over even an original 100M and takes a lot of weight of the front axle of the car.
Inside the trim of this beautiful 100 was reupholstered in the 1990s with some rejuvenation by ourselves and others over the last 5 years. The interior is clean and free of major defects but not without character earnt with time.
Overall NFS makes for an extremely presentable and beautiful M spec 100/4, continually maintained by us and other specialists over the last few decades.
Sold with MOT, large history file, Heritage Certificate, restoration photo CD (2012) restoration photo album c. 1990, engine dyno graphs and rebuild pictures, gearbox invoices, general servicing invoices and more.
