SOLD | Austin Healey Lenham GT with Period & Goodwood Race History
DETAILS
This 1959 Austin Healey Sprite Lenham GT is a very rare period conversion by the Lenham Motor Company with very impressive period race history at Goodwood Motor Circuit and Goodwood Hill Climb, Castle Comb, Mallory Park, Brands Hatch and more. The car retains its original registration 5080 KC.
The Lenham Motor Company offered it’s ‘fastback’ conversions as an improved and streamlined lightweight body with flared arches suitable for racing. Few of these cars are known to exist but are the Healey Sprite of choice for racers at the Goodwood Revival and Members Meeting today.
Highly original to this day, the car is finished in Healey Blue Metallic with revolution wheels, a half roll cage and bucket seats. Nicely patinated with age the paint is dull but solid and the fibreglass still strong. The car is fully operational with very strong race-level performance and handling.
This Lenham GT could make for a fun road car with a great history to enjoy as is, or with some light preparation be race ready once again, perhaps even for entry at the Goodwood Revival or Members meet.
