Original Healey Blue car
The most desirable Phase II BJ8 Model
Concours build or upgraded specification both available
Built between 1st-4th November 1966, this Austin Healey 3000 MKIII is a highly desirable late BJ8 Phase Two model, heritage certified fully matching numbers on all applicable items including the chassis, body, engine and gearbox ready for full restoration to better than concours standards.
This car left the factory with the quintessential Healey Blue exterior on Navy interior colour combination that makes these cars so popular today. The car was very highly specified from the factory with an optional tonneau cover and adjustable steering column, hood bag, overdrive, wire wheels, heater, laminated windscreen and Dunlop Roadspeed tyres.
The car is currently very complete and represents an ideal opportunity to restore a very original and correct car. As a BJ8 Phase Two model this represents the most desirable 3000, with a 3-litre straight six developing 150HP at 5,200rpm, a top speed of 125mph and achieving 0-60 in 9.8 seconds. These variants also gave great refinement over earlier cars with wind-up windows, easy-up ‘pram-style’ hood and superior ride and handling quality owing to revised spring and damping rates.
The vehicle is for sale as a project to be restored by Rawles Motorsport Ltd – the UK’s premium Austin Healey restorer. Cars can be restored to your exacting specification in LHD or RHD to original specification or to include our many uniquely developed upgrades should you wish.
