Austin Healey 100/6 Two-Seater (BN6)

DETAILS

Here we have a very rare find. Not only is this Austin Healey 100/6 a beautiful and scarcer two-seater model (as used by the competitions department, with legendary Pat Moss making her debut in such a car), this Healey is one of just 85 original right hand drive cars built for CKD export. Originally delivered new to Cape Town, South Africa, this Healey has had a warm, easy, dry climate life and was reportedly in excellent condition even prior to the restoration carried out in 2025.

This Healey has been in current ownership since 2005 with the car being brought to the UK in 2017. Restoration began in 2023 finishing in 2025. The restoration included full dismantling of the exterior body panels which were restored by bodywork specialist Paintworkz in 2025 from bare metal. The car has been completely re-upholstered inside with Italian leather in Dark Red with Black seat piping and Black carpet set, complimented by a Derrington style wooden steering wheel. The engine was renewed with a unleaded converted cylinder head rebuild, new piston rings, lightened flywheel, rear main oil seal upgrade, electronic ignition and a aluminium sump. The gearbox received a full rebuild inclusive of a new first gear and new synchro rings. At the same time the car was re-wired and re-plumbed. The car also features a front disc brake upgrade over the usual drums.

The car has received a post restoration and engine build service by a classic specialist and further work to the brakes by Rawles Motorsport in August 2026.

In conclusion this is an excellent condition, beautiful two-seater big Healey with very original, rust free body panelling. The car drives superbly with extremely strong performance, superior to most 3000 models owing to the engine upgrades with stopping power to match.

Sold with new MOT, British Motor Heritage, original owners manual, soft top, sides-creens, jack and hammer.
