DETAILS
For sale a wonderful early Austin Healey 100 highly upgraded and modernised far in excess of the extremely desirable 100M specification. Built May 1954 and delivered new to Australia this is an original right-hand drive, dry climate car in fine condition now finished in Carmine Red with Ivory Duotone and Black trim. Over £30,000 has been spent in the last couple of years on high quality parts and rebuilds with further bills in a long history file. The 1954 100 BN1s are much lighter than the later examples of the 100/4 owing to the same lightweight 4-stud axle as fitted to the 100S plus a aluminium boot and bonnet. In combination with this examples high specification engine and 4-speed overdrive gearbox, this makes for very strong performance.
Cosmetically the car is very solid and smart externally, internally and underneath having been fitted in 2015 with the floors and inner plus outer sills by ourselves and the chassis has been repaired and strengthened with capping which should increase rigidity to the benefit of handling and comfort. The carpet was replaced in 2020 as was the boot lining. Duotone paint was added by the owner also sometime around 2015. The wheels are chrome 60 spoke wires with Blockley tyres, new in late 2017 and still excellent. The Black Everflex hood is in very good condition as per the gallery photos, the carpet shows little to no wear since recent replacement and the rest of the interior is very nice.
Overall this is a stunning car to drive, with engine, gearbox, differential, steering and suspension all as new with a long list of work as follows:
