Austin Healey 100/6 | Healey Blue Metallic

DETAILS

This late 100/6 is a superior Abingdon built example built in 1958 with the later Weslake tuned engine. This offered greater performance and torque than the earlier cars and this cylinder head design was used until the end of Healey production in 1967. This Healey is finished in Healey Blue Metallic with Black interior and Black carpet plus chrome wire wheels.

The car was repainted by Bell Classics in 2010 to a very nice standard but some small blistering is present on the bonnet and drivers door. A scratch has been touched in on the rear shroud.  Panel fitment is very good with pleasing headlight fit to the wings, appropriately flush doors and good panel flushness.

The interior was retrimmed in 1996 and presents very nicely with an appropriate level patina to the leather, clean carpets and all original Smiths gold faced gauges.

The engine and engine bay are pleasingly very clean and very original with the correct factory carbs and Coopers air cleaners fitted. The car runs the correct dynamo and radiator and features an upgraded alloy fuel tank plus a stainless side exit exhaust as a practical modernisation. The car drives very nicely, displaying excellent oil pressure, driving smoothly and shifting through the gears cleanly all while maintaining good operating temperature. The car benefits from front disc brakes.

The car has a good history file with significant detail of MOT, maintenance and restoration works over the last three decades. Supplied MOT and with heritage certificate of authenticity.
