Celebrity Austin Healey Owners & Enthusiasts
With the launch of the Austin Healey in 1953 Austin quite literally couldn’t build them fast enough to meet demand. As such, these stylish convertibles were the latest fashion items and each time a new model came out celebrities and TV stars from around the globe (America especially) were seen cruising the streets in these cool convertibles.
Today, you can ‘Google’ most big name celebrities such as Jonny Depp, George Clooney, Colin Firth, Ricky Gervais, Nick Mason, David Gandy, various Kardashians, almost every F1 star plus many more and find them beside a Healey.
Clint Eastwood was clearly very proud of his Austin Healey 100 and can be seen washing it then posing by it proudly – perhaps one of his first flash cars as he rose to stardom?
Although famous for owning a plethora of exotic cars from Italy, Steve McQueen also owned a red Healey 100. Naturally McQueen drove it everywhere windscreen down for maximum top speed.
We can see a louvred bonnet but not a 100M type – so maybe he had a few mods under there?
Well, it was actually McLaren’s fathers car, a 100 again but that didn’t stop Bruce McLaren taking the wheel of his father’s Healey and racing the car from 1955 until 1956
Bruce achieved many victories in the car which is often credited with starting his career.
The Indiana Jones and Star Wars star Harrison Ford is well known for owning and adoring a 1966 Austin Healey 3000 MkIII.
Ford owns quite a few British classics and is often seen out cruising in his Healey.
When you’re a world famous motorcycle rider and two-time world champion, you need something fast when you upgrade to four wheels. Barry Sheene owned a Austin Healey 3000 MkI two-seater (BN7) one of our favourite Healeys.
The famous Healey rallying driver started her career with Austin Healey road-testing a factory BN1 demonstrator (SAC 884) but was soon recognised as an incredible talent. After winning the Liege-Rome-Liege rally in 1961, Moss purchased her rally car (URX 727) after falling in love.
The famous 1950s actress and wife of Paul Newman also owned a duotone Healey and poses proudly by it.

Naturally as a lady used to the very finest things in life, Grace Kelly Princess of Monaco had an Austin Healey 3000 MkIII BJ8.
Formula 1 Stars in Healey Cars
Every Formula 1 star of the last 20 years has been in an Austin Healey. Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, Michael Schumacher, Sebastien Vettel – you can name them all – each have perched on the back of an Austin Healey and waved at the crowd.
Whoever wins the Canadian GP this year will cross the line in an Austin Healey. Since 2000 this Grand Prix event has brought something different to the Formula 1 Pilot’s Parade. Instead of heading the drivers into the back of an open trailer like cattle, the stars are put on show in beautiful Healey cars.

Just owning our demonstrator Healey has enabled us to have great fun on photoshoots and sets for fashion magazines, music videos, TV shows and even beer commercials. Clearly the global appeal of these cars is huge.
