Austin Healey 3000 MkIII Phase 2 NWJ 14D | Original RHD in Healey Blue - 1966 | £TBA | RHD
Just in, more photographs to follow.
Built on the 31st May 1966 and dispatched to Sheffield Motors on the 9th June, this late 3000 MKIII BJ8 car is a rare original right hand drive home market car, still on its original registration mark of NWJ 14D. Painted in it’s original colours of Healey Blue and Ivory duo-tone, with Blue interior trim and hood, the car is fully numbers matching. As a 3000 MKII BJ8 Phase Two this car represents the most desirable and usable model of all the 3000s with wind-up windows, 'pram-style' hood, 150 metric horsepower and an overdrive gearbox
The car is well presented in pleasing condition throughout. Notably, this car was one of very few to be optioned with a leather hide interior over the Ambla vinyl most MKIII cars came with. The interior is very presentable and remains correct, with a period radio and Moto-Lita wheel among other welcome period additions.
Panel fitment is good across the car and the paint is of a nice quality finish. The chrome bright work across the car is very good as are the stainless wire wheels fitted. This example is supplied with full wet weather gear including tonneau and hood bag with the hood sealing well and the hood bag being a mohair item hand fitted by us.
Mechanically the car is very strong, making good oil pressure and keeping cool in summer heat thanks to additional electronic fan. The gearbox shifts smoothly and the engine produces good power.
The car has been maintained by us for the last two owners with papers from other specialists prior with very significant amounts spent in the last few years alone. This is a very well cared for example supplied newly serviced with MOT and heritage certificate of authenticity.
